I didn't renew my car registration last yr due to it being stored..?

Kaylee Schmittou: Why would a notary know? Wouldn't the DMV be a better place to find out?

Joel Feagler: A registration is good only for the reg period stamped on the face. BUT, In most States you have a 1 year grace period. MEANING. The Paper work is on hand or available for 1 year AFTER it expires. Another But,here, You can NOT drive the car.If It's expired It's expired. So they will honor a reg renewal up until that period. Why a Notary background? I New York, I'm almost sure and in most States you should be able to store your plates for a period not to exceed 1 year. This is usually used by Corvette Owners the most because of the tendency of the cars to crack in Winter. Good Luck...Show more

Mark Villifana: I asked for a notary because notaries here take care of car registrations. For a fee. a notary can have your registration given to you instantly. Maybe that is not the case in every State.
