Lia Argall: you can use your router from your internet, you just need ethernet cords.
Vernon Martorana: To get the tv program guide you need a phone line or broadband internet.You can use a Tivo in some cases without either, but it is more like a VCR in that you can't youtube, tv guide, or all the other features. You have to use a Tivo that has a open account though. If the account is closed on the system info screen then it will only do tuning, and in some cases a half hour time shift.
