To get started, no, you typically cannot get 5.1 and definitely not 7.1 surround sound using RCA A/V cables. HDMI is the only way to get 7.1 surround sound, although I don't beleive any TV is broadcast with 7.1 surround sound. You really need to be able to use at least a digital cable, optical cable, or HDMI to get the surround sound you are looking for. Post the model number and I can tell you your options!NEW INFO. With the new info, I'm afraid I can't tell you much more. I can't seem to find the specs for your device. But, if your home theater system does have an RF connector that you can connect a coaxial cable to, then that is your best option. Run a coaxial cable from your comcast box to the entertainment system. That will give you the 5.1 surround sound.
